About Family Dog

At Family Dog Obedience & Training, we believe great training starts with trust, communication, and connection. Our mission is to help dogs and their humans build stronger relationships through positive, science-backed training that focuses on understanding—not force.

We believe dogs learn best when they feel safe, supported, and motivated to engage. Training should not only be effective, but enjoyable for both ends of the leash. A happy dog is a learning dog, and when communication and partnership come first, lasting success follows.

Because every dog and family is unique, we never take a one-size-fits-all approach. We take the time to understand your dog, your goals, and your family’s lifestyle so we can create a training plan designed for real-world success.

Meet Abby...

Hi, I’m Abby Taylor, Owner and Head Trainer of Family Dog Obedience & Training.

My love for dogs started at a young age and quickly turned into a passion for understanding behavior, communication, and the relationship between dogs and their people. I have always believed training should be a two-way conversation—where owners not only teach their dogs, but also learn to understand them.

I completed my education through Animal Behavior College and continue expanding my knowledge through hands-on experience and continuing education. I specialize in puppy development, family dog training, and service dog training, with the last three years focused on helping service dogs and handlers build the skills and teamwork needed to navigate life together successfully.

I am also an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and educator and have spent over five years helping families better understand, communicate with, and advocate for their dogs through relationship-focused training.
